CPIP

The Club Penguin Improvement Project (also known as CPIP), was a project set out by Billybob’s team of Moderators and graphic designers. The site was somewhat similar to the PSA headquarters. The project is now over. You can find the (closed) official website here.

Possibility of reappearanceA user sent in an e-mail to Club Penguin about CPIP coming back, and they replied back saying:

Hi there,

The Club Penguin Improvement Project (CPIP) was created awhile back to get penguins to help us with some updates we were making to the website. There’s no plans yet about CPIP returning, but you never know what could happen in the future. Tons of different events are always happening around the island including the Halloween Party and Club Penguin’s Fourth Anniversary Party at the end of the month. Be sure to keep an eye on the Club Penguin Times Newspaper and the What’s New blog (http://community.clubpenguin.com/blog) to stay up to date on everything happening around the island.

The possibility of reappearance has caused some penguins to fear that the Hard Hats they got from CPIP will be redistributed, causing them not to be considered a rare item any more.

CPIP 2 TheoryOn a recent post on the What’s New Blog, Billybob posted a You Decide poll including a green hard hat that will either make trees when is danced with, make flowers or a green hard hat the will come with a shovel that will dig. This green hard hat may possibly be the reward for an upcoming CPIP 2. (The reward for the first is Red, so another colo(u)r will be expected if the reward’s a hard hat.

TriviaWhen asked, Gizmo said that CPIP 2 will be happening late 2009, but it didn’t happen.

Sometime in March, CPIP added four more testing servers.

On April 14th, the new website was finally completed.

During the server test, there was a Moderator party with Billybob, Rsnail, and Screenhog.

If a player helped with the CPIP Server Project, they received a special Red Construction Hat which made the jackhammer red, too.

During the April Fool’s Party 2008, when players would log on, they would become green puffles instead of penguins. This could still be done using Penguin Storm 9.

CPIP participants are not considered Beta Testers, although sometimes mistaken as such.

Many penguins who lie about being Beta Testers use the red hard hat as false proof. They are often believed and therefore gain a lot of publicity.

The CPIP Hard Hat is referenced in the “Construction Worker” Card-Jitsu card.
